Mr Speaker Rt Hon Bamidele Oleyelogun today join me and other Members of Committee on Public Utilities,Transport and Special Duties Chaired by me on oversight/inspection of the newly built Ondo State (VIO) Computerized Vehicle Inspection Service, Akure Centre today prior to commissioning by Mr Governor.
Mr Speaker and the Committee thank Mr Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN and noted the initiative which borders on the safety of vehicle owners as well as other road users in Ondo State.
This will also curb insurance of fake vehicle particular in the State and increase State IGR, create employments/job opportunities for our youths/unemployed across the 3 senatorial districts when other terminal kick start at Ore,Okitipupa & Owo respectively.
The Consultant/Manager of the terminal Mr Bolaji Makinde took Mr Speaker and Members of the committee on inspection tour were he explained the various stages vehicles will undergo in the process of computer inspection for all categories of vehicles.
Each vehicle will take an average of 15 to 20 minutes with approximately 120 vehicles per day with instant certifed reports of inspection. Before proceeding for vehicle particulars (new and renewal)

The Special Adviser to Mr Governor on Transport Hon (Barri) Tobi Ogunleye received us alongside Hon. Dojumo Jimoh Special Adviser to Mr. Governor on Security, Mrs. Funmi Ogundipe Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, Engr. Adeleye D.A Director Vehicle Inspection Services.
The Adviser on Transport thank Mr Speaker and the committee for the timely visit and appeal to us to help educate our people at various level on the importance facility.
The Committee will proceed to the Southern Senatorial district in their next oversight/inspection tour.
